Content Permissions

Permissions is the term used to describe the access rights a user has to content in the Hub. Permissions are set on a playlist level and can be managed in the inspector under the "Access" tab.

Permission Levels

Everyone

When "Everyone" is selected, then any user with access to the Hub will be able to view the playlist and its content.

Selected teams

When the "Selected teams" option is selected, then only users who are members of the selected teams will be able to view the playlist and its content. The teams that have access to a playlist can be edited by clicking the "Edit teams" button, bringing up a modal where admins can select and deselect teams that have access.

Only admins

"Only admins" is the default state when a new playlist is created. When this option is selected the playlist won't appear for any non-admin users in the hub.

Permission Inheritance

When a playlist is added to another playlist as a playlist link, the permissions of the parent playlist can be inherited by the playlist link. For example, if the playlist link has broader permissions (eg. the parent playlist has "Selected teams" and the playlist link has "Everyone" selected), then upon adding a playlist link the admin is provided with a modal where they can choose if they want to add the playlist link as "required" content (inheriting the parent playlist permissions) or as "optional" content (keeping the playlist link permissions).
