5app Ethos Playlist: Playlist introducing 5app - a team of digital learning specialists, product designers, UX experts, developers and business strategists based around Europe.

5app Case Studies: In this playlist you’ll find a selection of client stories – of companies using the 5App Hub to drive employee engagement, deliver learning and communications whilst breaking down silos.

5app Customer Hubs: This playlist contains all active 5App customers and links to customer Hubs.

Setting up 💻​

Hardware​

You will be provided with a Macbook.

A desktop setup (monitor, keyboard, mouse etc.) is available, just inform your manager what you need for your workspace.

Development workspace​

To get your workspace up and running, you'll need:

  • Slack
  • A terminal of your choice
  • Git
  • NVM (node version manager, with Node 18)
  • Visual Studio, or which ever IDE you prefer
  • A database management application (recommended: Sequel Ace)
  • Docker

Then follow the steps under Onboarding-Developers and Hub ReadMe to get your local environment set up.

HR things​

5app employee handbook 📖​

5app's employee handbook aims to provide guidance and information on our values, policies and procedures (e.g. around parental leave), and workplace code of conduct.

It can be a valuable resource for you to acquaint yourself with for your work at 5app. If you however find that you can't find information you're searching for, don't hesitate to ask your manager.

Annual leave 🌴​

To take your annual leave, add a calendar entry to the Google company calendar and ideally notify your team that you'll be away.

Please note that usually leave cannot be carried over into the next year, so please make sure to take your time off.

Sick leave 🤒​

If you're not feeling well, please notify your manager (person stated within your contract). If you feel like it, a short message to the #general or the #eng Slack channel to notify your team mates, that you're not working for the day is appreciated.

Payroll & Pension 💸​

For payroll and NEST pension related questions within the UK ask your manager or directly get in contact with our accountant (currently Esther Burns).

For payroll related questions within Germany ask your manager or directly get in contact with our accountant at Planaris (currently Thomas Schramm).
